Quilty Star - Jamdani Handwoven Cotton

£11.75

Sold by the half metre.

A very special fabric, this handloom and handwoven fabric featuring Sawtooth star motif is made using traditional Jamdani technique in Bengal. The main fabric is made on the handloom and the motif is handwoven with a needle throughout. The main colour is a very dark grey-blue and the intricate motif is woven in white and red. It is perfect for the most beautifully airy blouses and dresses. It is very lightweight and sheer so layering is required. You will feel so special in this fabric.

Handmade fabrics are by nature more susceptible to irregularities which are part of the charm rather than a flaw. Any major flaws I spot will be avoided when cutting your fabric for you.

✨Pattern Ideas✨ Chloe Dress & Top by Silversaga, The Wilder Gown by Friday Pattern Company, Francesca Dress by Silversaga, March Top & Dress by Helen’s Closet.

100% Cotton, GOTS-certified organic dyes.

Approx. 115cm wide.

Approx. 55gsm.

Care instructions:

It hopefully goes without saying that this is an extremely special and delicate fabric. Jamdani's sheer structure and fine, floating motifs require gentle handling.

Dry cleaning, or if no staining, airing, is strongly recommended. If hand washing, use only cold water and a very mild, non-bio soap. Do not rub the motif areas. Do not use harsh chemicals or bleach. Do not wring. Gently press between clean towels to remove excess water. Hang or lay flat to dry in the shade.
