Terms and Conditions of Use and Service

General

This website is operated by Sew Sister Limited (trading as Hey Sew Sister). Use of the terms ‘we’, ‘our’ or ‘us’ refers to Sew Sister Limited. By using our website and online shop by visiting the website or using it in any way including making (a) purchase(s), you hold yourself to be bound by the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions you must not access the website or use it in any way. Your use of the website is treated as acceptance of the terms and conditions. We reserve the right to update the terms and conditions at any time and without notice. It is your responsibility to check for any updates to the terms and conditions and how they might impact your decision to use and use of the website. 

Operations

Our website is hosted by Squarespace, Inc which provides us with an online platform to show and sell our goods to you. We use Stripe, Inc which is integrated with our Squarespace account to process your payments. By making a purchase through our website you agree to payment processing and the storage of personal and payment details by Squarespace, Inc and Stripe, Inc. 

The vast majority of our orders are posted out to you via Royal Mail Business. By making a purchase through our website you agree to your personal information, shipping address and order details being stored by Royal Mail. This allows us to efficiently process and print your postage label and allows you to receive postage updates. Occasionally we will use alternative courier services including but not limited to: UPS, DHL, DPD, Hermes. 

We use gmail as our business email provider. By corresponding with us via email, subscribing to our newsletters or placing an order with us you consent to your email address and email content being stored by gmail. 

Online Store Terms

  1. By using our website, you agree to use it with respect towards the Directors, employees and other customers. Any content which we consider abuse, bullying, harassment, unlawful behaviour, defamatory, threatening, offensive or obscene will be moderated at our discretion in order to protect our Directors, employees and other customers. 

  2. All goods and services provided by us to you are sold in GBP (Pounds Sterling). Any refunds issued will also be issued in GBP. 

  3. By placing an order you agree to purchase the goods at the price stated at the time of the transaction (when payment is made). 

  4. We reserve the right to make changes to prices without any prior notice. 

  5. We reserve the right to discontinue the sale of any goods at any time and without any prior notice. 

  6. We have made every effort to accurately visually present the goods available for sale on our website, however due to the nature of different personal electronic devices which may be used to access our website, we cannot guarantee that your device will display the colour and texture of the goods accurately. We cannot guarantee that the quality, texture or colour of goods purchased by you will meet with your personal expectations and satisfaction and this will not form a basis for return, refund or exchange of the goods. 

  7. We reserve the right to refuse sale to or terminate a contract of sale to customers based on customer location/delivery location or jurisdiction. In the event of such refusal or termination, any payment already made will be fully refunded as soon as reasonably practicable. 

  8. You accept full responsibility for the accurate inputting and/or provision of any billing, personal and delivery address information when making a purchase through our website or other service or agreement. We will not be held responsible for any incorrect billing, failed delivery or lost parcels due to incorrect billing, personal or delivery information being inputted or provided. 

  9. Purchase and payment is final. Once you have successfully placed an order through our website this cannot be cancelled. Please only make a purchase if you are happy for payment to be made and your order fulfilled by us. 

  10. We only offer to refund or exchange goods where they are shown to be faulty or inaccurately described. Please see terms below on ‘refunds, returns and exchanges’.

  11. Sometimes fabric arrives with us from our suppliers with uneven edges. In order to avoid waste and give the customer the benefit of additional fabric, we will often include this unevenly cut edge, ensuring that we still cut at least the quantity of fabric ordered by the customer (from the shortest edge of the length of fabric). An unevenly cut edge will not be a ground for a refund or exchange. 

  12. The vast majority of orders will be posted using the Royal Mail, however we reserve the right to use alternative couriers without prior notice, for example in the event that the weight of the parcel means that it is too heavy to be processed through the Royal Mail or the cost of sending by Royal Mail is significantly higher than the cost of postage charged to the customer. 

Refunds, Returns and Exchanges

We will happily refund or exchange goods purchased on our website where the goods are proven to be faulty or inaccurately described. In the event that goods arrive faulty or inaccurately described, please write to georgie@heysewsister.co.uk within 14 days of receipt of the goods. Provided we are notified of the damaged or inaccurately described goods within 14 days of your receipt of the goods, we will provide a full refund or exchange. We do not accept responsibility for damaged goods after they have been washed, cut, used or otherwise tampered with. 

Errors and omissions

Whilst we will make our best endeavors to ensure that all information provided on our website is accurate, we accept that on occasion errors and omissions may be made. Please write to georgie@heysewsister.co.uk if you believe any information provided on our website is incorrect, false or misleading. We reserve the right to correct any errors or omissions and make amendments to the information (written and imagery) at any time and without giving notice. 

Termination of Contracts of Sale

We reserve the right to cancel a Contract of sale transaction at any time and without notice or explanation. 

Data Handling 

By using our website, you consent to any personal (and otherwise) information you input to be held securely by Squarespace and to be used for the purpose stated including but not limited to the fulfilment of orders, optional subscription to newsletters, email correspondence, telephone correspondence. If you place an order through our website your information will also be processed and stored by Stripe Inc and Royal Mail. By placing an order with us you are consenting to your personal information being processed and stored by us, Squarespace Inc, Stripe Inc, Royal Mail and occasionally other courier websites. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

We use cookies to help us to improve our website and service we provide. By accessing our website you consent to our use of cookies and we display a cookie banner on our website to remind you of this. Please do not continue to use our website if you do not agree to the use of cookies.

Personal information and data will only be disclosed where we are required to do so by law or if you breach the terms and conditions of service. 

Complaints

Please write to georgie@heysewsister.co.uk with any complaints and we will respond to you within 14 days. 

Jurisdiction 

These terms and conditions and any separate agreements whereby we provide you with goods or services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland.
