Latte - Double-Sided Quilted Screen Print Cotton (Hey Sew Sister Exclusive)
Sold by the half metre.
As a plastic-conscious sewist, I found it so difficult (almost impossible) to source pre-quilted fabric made using natural fibre batting/wadding. I was therefore so pleased when one of my brilliant suppliers in India advised that he could have his lightweight block and screen printed Indian fabrics quilted together with cotton wadding for our colder weather in the UK! This design features a soft floral against a creamy background on one side and a blue and brown stripe print on the reverse. They are quilted together with the batting in a narrow vertical stripe pattern. Expect irregularities and imperfections with the print and the quilting- it’s all part of the charm and character of the fabric. Printed by man (or woman), not by machine!
This fabric is ideal for light jackets, trousers and jumpers.
✨Pattern Ideas ✨ Block Party Pants by Fluid plus Drape x Neighbourhood Patterns, The Sidney Sweatshirt by Merchant & Mills, Homebody Quilted Jacket by Matchy Matchy Sewing Club, Coquillage Wrap Quilted Jacket Pattern by Camimade,
Wildwood Jacket and Vest by Helen’s Closet/
100% Cotton (including wadding).
Approx. 100-110cm wide. (Quilted with 110cm fabric but factoring in width shrinkage and selvedge irregularities from quilting process).
Approx. 275gsm.
Care - It is recommended that quilted screen and block printed cotton fabrics are treated delicately. They should be washed at low (cold if possible) temperature. Wash by hand if possible or using a delicate machine cycle and for a short cycle. Use non-bio detergent only. Gentle spin cycle only. Air dry only (do not tumble dry).
