GOTS Organic Cotton Fleece - Balsam Fir
We are pleased to present a fabric that we have been searching long and hard for - a 100% cotton fleece fabric! Not only that, it is also GOTS certified organic. Most fleece fabrics on the market are 100% polyester (sometimes nylon and acrylic), which is plastic. Almost all plastic is made from fossil fuels and furthermore, synthetic fleece fabrics also shed microfibres of plastic into our water and eco systems. More technical fabrics (such as sports and dance wear) are out of necessity made of synthetic fabrics so it is great that we have a natural fibre alternative for the warm fleece fabric.
This fabric is super soft to the touch and has a slight fuzziness to its texture. At 300gsm it has a bit of weight to it and will make a wonderful layering piece for colder weather or as an outer layer jacket for spring and autumn. I think it would be really fun to make a colour block fleece jacket or pullover using a few different colours of this fabric. A gorgeous grey/blue toned green.
