Abloom - Double-Sided Quilted Sanganeri Block Print Cotton (Hey Sew Sister Exclusive)
Sold by the half metre.
As a plastic-conscious sewist, I found it so difficult (almost impossible) to source pre-quilted fabric made using natural fibre batting/wadding. I was therefore so pleased when one of my brilliant suppliers in India advised that he could have fabric quilted together with cotton wadding! I decided to choose contrasting yet complementary floral prints for each side of the fabric allowing for some pattern play. The patterned fabrics are all Sanganeri designs block printed in Rajasthan using traditional methods. They are quilted together with the batting in a narrow vertical stripe pattern. Expect irregularities and imperfections with the print - it’s all part of the charm and character of the fabric. Printed by man (or woman), not by machine!
This fabric is ideal for light jackets, trousers and jumpers.
